About Us

Generation Nine Two is a group composed of Daniel Conover and Ric Lampkins. Both are students at Saint Christopher's School in Richmond, Virginia. The two created this blog in order to share their opinions on various topics, opinions which, hopefully, bring a different perspective to people's minds. The group also partakes in musical creation. Conover handles the bulk of the production, as well as rapping, whereas Ric specializes in the latter. The two come from different backgrounds, yet combine their past experiences and current beliefs to provide you with insightful commentary.
Ric: I was born in Richmond, Virginia. With my mom being from New York City, I spent lots of time there as a young child, and Queens, NY is like a second home to me. I've moved 11 times in my life, from Fredricksburg to Stafford to Powhatan, but I consider it a blessing. I learned to adapt to many different environments, a skill very necessary when you go to Saint Chris. I stayed there until 7th grade, when I moved to Baltimore, MD. Seventh grade is a really important time developmentally for a boy, it being the thirteenth year and all, and it was probably the most important year of my life, as the Maryland perspective was much different from the Richmond perspective. I came back to Saint Chris a year later a completely new person. My perspective, influenced by much time spent north of the Mason-Dixon Line, often differs from that of my peers, and I attempt as much as possible to allow them to see all sides of an argument. My main belief is that in order to understand the whole of life, as many points of view must be studied as possible.
Daniel (Cons) was born in Tallahassee Florida.  He grew up, like Ric, in a number of different places, spending large portions of his life in Tallahassee, Dekalb, Illinois, a small town outside of Chicago, Wilmington, North Carolina, and currently Richmond VA.  Like Ric, this has broadened Daniel's perspective's and given him the valuable trait of adaptability.
